Orchard House is a mental health Nursing Home that takes residents with different mental health issues. We felt that although there are many dementia café’s out there, what was lacking was a service that encompassed all mental health issues and dementia. So, we are launching Mind Matters as a drop-in service for those wanting to meet new people, to get information and to allow relatives and carers to have some positive support. As lone carers, as well as those in large companies can feel isolated or have no one to talk to.

The hope is for the café to run monthly on a Thursday and to have information and other relating resources for visitors.

The café will be run by a fully qualified counsellor and trained bereavement support worker and within the home we have Registered Mental Health Nurses, Registered General Nurses and a Registered Nurse for Learning Disabilities for support.
